Not All Bubbles are Created Equal-Some are EXTRAordinary!
It’s 2021 and we have reached the it’s-not-offensive-to-be-in-your-own-bubble phase of life. What an interesting time to be alive!
Due to the COVID19 Pandemic, many restaurants have created a “bubble” type outdoor dining experience. After a suggestion from a loved one, I found myself on the Crystal Springs website where I learned that they were also offering an outdoor dining experience described as “heated glass-surround private lounges”. As I perused the website it became evident that not all “bubbles” are created equal, and in that moment, I was determined to book the Champagne Chalet for an EXTRAordinary experience with my husband to celebrate Valentine’s Day 2021.
Leading up to the date, I could not wait to luxuriate in a private bubble for two hours!
I could tell that this experience required a wardrobe change. But like so many people now, I live in my comfy robe and the very popular loungewear!
I showed up in a snowsuit and opted to wear snow boots since it has been snowing just about weekly this Winter. If you read between the lines here, you are correct; snow was not going to stop me from enjoying the Chalet! Underneath the snowsuit, I wore a ski jumpsuit and brought along a pink faux fur vest. The ambiance is romantic, so more dressy attire would certainly be a great choice too. I opted for ski-chic (I made this up...I think)!
Right outside our Chalet was a speaker that played beautiful jazz instrumentals, and our relaxation was on TEN. In fact, I connected this experience to my very romanticized version of glamping. I imagine that when I do make it glamping the experience would have a similar vibe.
When making a reservation, keep in mind that they offer two Chalet sizes. We dined in the Chalet that seats 2 or 4 people. If you are like me and prefer space, I wouldn’t recommend sharing this size Chalet with another couple. However, when I looked at the neighboring Chalet (same size) there were four people comfortably seated inside.
Our very attentive waitresses kept the food coming, checked on us frequently, and even took some great pictures to capture the moment. The food was tasty (per my husband mostly), but to be honest, I didn’t eat much of it because I have dietary restrictions and they did not modify the menu. I do not eat red meat, shrimp, or wheat and much of the menu incorporated these food items. Luckily, for me, the delicious salad, champagne, and macaroons made up for it.
Two days before Valentine's Day, we were gifted with a box of cards. Of course this wasn’t an ordinary box of cards! These cards are used between couples to explore their relationship using thought-provoking questions to make challenging conversations easy and fun. Hubby and I took turns asking and responding to the questions and the intimate setting created the right amount of energy to foster vulnerability, meaningful connection, and deeper understanding between us. Our smiles say it all; we had the BEST time!
I recommend the experience and I would certainly return for another date night or a girl’s night! Our reservation was from 8pm - 10pm, so next time I’d like to go earlier in the day to do some exploring because the entire property looks beautiful and picturesque.
